If you don’t remember from my about me section, my name is John. I was born and raised in Southern California. For those who have traveled to California near the Coast know why it’s so expensive living there. The weather is usually consistent and they don’t have season’s, just sunny days and palm trees. So why would someone leave?
I graduated from College in 2015 from Cal State San Bernardino. At the same time I ran and operated my own online business. This put me through college and due to some unfortunate luck with the LAW, I ended up selling the business and getting offered a job as an Internet Sales Manager for Chevy. Things were going great. I lived half a mile from the ocean and money was good. But life isn’t all about money. So I had an opportunity to leave California in 2018 and pursue my passion of being a full time travel Photographer.
I began working for a few Michigan based companies and worked part time at a local Camera store. I had some family out there and I stayed for about a year. My family ended up being relocated to Tennessee and I didn’t know if I wanted to stay alone in Michigan after dropping my life in California. I heard great things about Austin Texas and in my email inbox lied an unread message from GoDaddy. GoDaddy had reached out to me and convinced me to relocate to this booming city. I moved to Austin in February of 2019.
I was greeted kindly by most Austinites but also I got a lot of “oh you’re one of those (Californian’s)”. So I wasn’t sure how I was going to do here in Austin. After staying with GoDaddy for a short time I realized Austin was big on food and alcohol. Now, i’m not a big drinker by far, but i’m a big eater. I figured why not take my love of food to help explore a new city. I worked hard on my Yelp and started exploring menus and food trucks. Instantly I was hooked in leaving reviews. I realized after my post and photos were helping 20,000+ viewers per month, that I had to take the next step in helping you decide where to eat and what to enjoy.
So I look forward to discussing new locations and sharing beautiful pictures of food with yall. Please feel free to reach out to me and lets meet up at a restaurant or coffee house sometime. I love coffee!
