I’m not going to lie, when I first moved to Austin, I wasn’t sold. I was stuck in an introverted mind set in a city full of extroverts. If you feel like you need more depth to your life like I did and want a fun way to meet new people, I highly recommend joining Better Off Bowling.
This bowling league is not your normal bowling league. It is held on different nights throughout the week and is held at High 5 off Anderson Lane in Austin Texas. If you’ve never been to High 5 click the link to see the yelp reviews and photos. If you want to drink, they’ve got a full bar. If you want to eat, their bar food is better than most! Plus they’ve got Taco Specials and happy hour deals! If you want to play arcade games, they’ve got some intense video games as well as the classics. One wild Texas thing they have here is Axe throwing. I’m not too sure how I feel about this still but it looks like a good time.

My Experience with B.O.B
This is a fun environment. If you are looking for a more serious bowling league, definitely do not sign up here. The lanes are not regulation PBA and each week the lane conditions change. But that’s because it’s intended for people to party and have fun in a small close quarters area. I would sign up again but I am starting in a competitive league and will not have time for another social league. I like how diverse the group of people are. The host is awesome and each week they have free drinks or free games or something that is on the house! It’s affordable and won’t break the bank if you sign up with the early bird enrollment.
